Removal of skin changes

There are various changes on the skin that require surgical intervention, whether it is a mole that needs to be removed or benign changes such as lipomas. Depending on their localization, a carefully planned procedure is required in order to remove the change completely and to reduce the scar to a minimum.

The most common skin changes that require surgical intervention:
  • Moles
  • Lipomas
  • An ingrown toenail
  • Atheroma
  • Abscesses

Description of the procedure

Most operations are performed under local anesthesia. The procedure itself consists of the incision of the skin change and the reconstruction of the resulting defect with stitches. In most cases, the sample is sent for pathohistological analysis.

Preparation for the procedure

Before the operation, you will consult with one of our surgeons. During the examination, the doctor will explain the procedure itself and possible complications, as well as the optimal method of performing the procedure. You will also be introduced to how to behave after the procedure and how to prepare for it.

Recovery

In the first few days after surgery, it is normal to feel soreness in the incision area. Depending on which position on the body the procedure is performed, the stitches will be removed 7-14 days after the operation.
